Mercy Peace and Love

I come from apple country in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia.  I started this sampler on a Stitching Retreat the summer of 2001.  I just sat down and started stitching on the basket and made it up as I went a long.  What scripture could I use to go with my little basket of apples?  I thought of "harvest", but it didn't grab me.
 Then one night the word "abundance" came to me.  When I looked it up in my Bible, this scripture jumped out at me.  It was perfect!

The dove with the branch in its mouth represents mercy and peace.  The heart means love.  The apple can also mean love.  The apple basket represents health and happiness.  When working on the vine, I didn't know how to finish the corners, so I just kept on stitching.  When I got to the corners, they just worked out perfectly!  I love making Smyrna crosses, so I made the heart out of them.  I was so excited and knew that this little sampler was just meant to be.
