The Rev. Dr. John Lown was our interim minister at Leesburg Presbyterian Church for about four years. When I had breast cancer in 1999, he came by one afternoon and we just talked. He was a very good listener that day and gave me just what I needed for strength to get through the coming weeks. He worked very hard for our church and was a wonderful minister. We were blessed to have had him for as long as we did. We were very sorry to see him leave and I wanted to make something special for him to remember us. So, I asked him what his favorite verse was from the Bible. I made it as a bookmark for him with frayed edges. This sampler is designed in his honor.
